Truck strike in Barisal called off
Truck Malik-Sramik Oikya Parishad (truck owners and workers association) of Barisal called off their indefinite strike yesterday night following a meeting with the administration.
Polash Kanti Bala, acting deputy commissioner of Barisal, said he held a meeting with the association's leaders over their five-point demand at his office yesterday.
Barisal City Corporation Mayor, over phone, assured them of considering the demands and requested them to call off the strike.
About 700 truck and 75 tank-lorry owners and workers of the division joined the strike that started since Saturday morning.
