Cuet to construct environment friendly library
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (Cuet) will establish an environment friendly library on the campus at a cost around Tk 5 crore.
Construction of the first three floors of the proposed five-storey library building will be completed by 2014.
Cuet Vice Chancellor Prof Jhangir Alam laid the foundation stone of the building yesterday.
Prof Jhangir Alam said the library would be the first one of its kind in the country as it will be constructed using all sorts of green technologies.
With facility for about 1000 students to study at a time, the library will accommodate about 4 lakh text and other books, he said.
