22 Bangladeshis sent to jail in India
The court of the chief judicial magistrate of Imphal East in India sentenced 22 Bangladeshi nationals to two-year prison terms on Thursday, reports The Hindu.
They were further ordered to pay Indian rupee 10,000 each as fine. In case of default, each prisoner has to undergo an extra prison term of six months.
On August 30, the Bangladeshis were picked up from Hatta Golabati in Imphal East district for traveling in India without any travel documents, eking out a living as daily wage earners and hawking various items.
