Man killed, girl found dead in capital
A man was killed and a girl was found dead in the capital's Lalbagh and East Shewrapara areas yesterday.
Mohammed Mofiz, 40, a security guard at Anwar Polimar Factory in Raj Narayan Dhor Road area of Lalbagh, was killed by miscreants as he tried to prevent them from entering the factory area around 7:00pm.
With several injuries in his body, Mofiz was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
Police suspect the incident of killing might have been occurred following an ongoing feud between the factory owner Delwar Hossain and his brother Badal.
Contacted, Delwar said some local extortionists demanded Tk 1 lakh from him about one and a half months ago.
There might have a link between the attack on Mofiz and the threats he received from the extortionists, he said.
In another incident, the body of an unidentified girl was recovered from a narrow alley behind a four-story building in East Shewrapara area.
The body was sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
