Remove construction materials: HC
The High Court yesterday ordered the Dhaka University (DU) authorities and Shahbagh Police Station to remove construction materials from DU central playground within 48 hours so that students can use it without any obstruction.
The court also directed them to submit a report before it after complying with the order within two weeks.
The HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque made the directions after a writ petition filed by Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh (HRPB) yesterday.
HRPB President Manzill Murshid in the petition said Toma and Mollik Constructions Ltd--have kept the construction materials.
DU vice-chancellor, registrar and chief engineer and OC of Shahbagh police have been made respondents to the rule.
