Remove illegal structures from footpaths: HC
The High Court yesterday directed the government to remove all unauthorised structures on footpaths and streets in the capital's Matsya Bhaban and Segunbagicha area.
The court also directed the authorities concerned to form a team to monitor whether the footpaths and streets have been freed. It also ordered to submit to it a report on the compliance with the directive within two weeks.
The HC bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice Quazi Reza-Ul Hoque passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed yesterday by advocate Manzill Murshid on behalf of Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh.
