Sust English dept head resigns
Head of English department at the Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (Sust), Md Atiullah, resigned on Thursday.
His resignation was accepted at a syndicate meeting yesterday, official sources said.
The meeting was convened as Atiullah filed a petition to Sust acting vice chancellor seeking release from his position as a group of students have been agitating for his removal.
The students handed over memorandum to the acting VC on September 3 demanding Atiullah's removal for his alleged involvement in irregularities.
The agitating students also padlocked the university's registrar building on September 26.
