Himu Murder Case
Charge sheet submitted
Nearly five months into the death of college student Himadri Majumdar Himu, police yesterday submitted the charge sheet in the Himu murder case against all five accused. Shah Selim Tipu, Junaid Ahmed Riad, Mahboob Ali Khan Danny, Zahedul Islam Shaon and Shahadat Hossain Shaju were the five accused in the case filed by Himu's uncle Prakash Das Asit with Panchlaish Police Station on May 24. Chittagong Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Md Moin Uddin (Prosecution) said the charge sheet was submitted before the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Muntasir Ahmed and October 18 has been fixed for hearing on the case. The charge sheet said upon Tipu's instruction, the co-accused forcibly took Himu to the rooftop of Tipu's building in Panchlaish Residential Area in Chittagong in April this year. They unleashed dogs on Himu and pushed him down the building, causing him injuries, it said. Himu, a student of Summerfield School and College, later succumbed to his injuries on May 23 in the capital's Square Hospital.
