Shajahan calls Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia razakar
Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan yesterday called BNP leader Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia a razakar.
“I did not know where the home of Barrister Rafiq is. After the television talk-show, a man from Comilla sent me a letter asking me to learn about Rafiq and said that local people knew him as Rafiq razakar,” he told a meeting after unveiling the foundation stone of a community centre in Madaripur.
On an October 22 live television talk-show on Rtv, Shajahan and Rafiqul launched personal attacks on each other while talking about the performance of the incumbent government and the BNP-led four-party government. The television station authorities had to suspend the live programme for a few minutes as they started exchanging indecent words.
About the November 3, 1975 jail killing, the shipping minister said the four national leaders were assassinated to eliminate the spirit of the Liberation War and such killing inside jail rarely took place in the history of the world.
