HC lawyer dies after falling from rooftop
A lawyer of the High Court died after falling from the rooftop of a six-storey building in the capital's Bashiruddin Road area yesterday.
The victim was Alpona Das, 35.
Family members of Alpona said she fell from the rooftop when she went to enjoy last evening's drizzle.
She was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Kona Das, mother of the victim, said Alpona might have slipped and fell as the roof was surrounded by only two and a half feet high railing.
“Finding that it was drizzling outside, she told me that she was going to the roof to enjoy the rain. Within a few minutes, I heard a hue and cry of people outside the building," she said.
