RMG worker 'commits suicide'
A garment worker allegedly committed suicide in the capital's Kafrul yesterday.
The dead, Murshida Akhter, 19, of Daulatpur in Khulna, lived in a rented room at Senpara.
Her roommate and co-worker Rina Akhter said when she went for a lunch at 1:15pm, she found the room locked from inside. Later, Rina informed police of the matter.
Sub-Inspector Shafiqul Islam of Kafrul Police Station said after breaking open the door, they found the body hanging from a ceiling fan with a scarf.
Rina said her husband Ismail, also a garment worker, divorced Murshida three days ago after only 25 days of their conjugal life.
