Kuwait emir to join celebration

Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al- Jaber Al-Sabah has formally accepted the invitation of President Zillur Rahman to participate in the country's Independence and National Day celebration on March 26 next year. Kuwait Ambassador to Bangladesh Ali Ahmad Ebraheem Al-Dafairi handed over the emir's “letter of acceptance” of the invitation to the president at Bangabhaban yesterday and apprised him that the Kuwait emir will visit Bangladesh in March to join the celebration events. During his Kuwait visit last month, Zillur Rahman handed over the invitation card to the Kuwaiti emir while holding bilateral talks with him. Through the Kuwaiti ambassador, Zillur Rahman conveyed his gratitude to the emir for accepting his invitation and said he is waiting to accord highest level of and warm hospitality to the emir during his visit to Bangladesh. The president expressed the hope that Bangladesh visit of Kuwaiti emir would further strengthen and deepen the existing excellent bilateral relations between the two countries. The Kuwait ambassador apprised the president that his emir conveyed gratitude to the president for visiting Kuwait twice and he (emir) would like to visit Bangladesh as a gesture of friendship.
