Dandy Dyeing case hearing deferred

A Dhaka court yesterday deferred till January 7 the hearing on a case filed against 10 directors of Dandy Dyeing Ltd, including BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman, for defaulting on a loan of Tk 45.49 crore. The court passed the order after a lawyer of Sonali Bank submitted a petition seeking adjournment of the hearing. On October 2, the bank filed the case with Money Loan Court-1. Nine other accused in the case are Arafat Rahman Koko, Giasuddin Al-Mamun, Shahina Yasmine, Nasrin Iskander, Shams Iskander, Shafin Iskander, Sumaiya Iskander, Mozaffar Ahmed and Kazi Galib Abdus Sattar. According to the case statement, the company had borrowed Tk12.16 crore from the bank's main office in Dhaka on October 16, 2001.
