Fire guts 4 houses in Ctg
Four houses were gutted in a fire on Bahadderhat Khaza road in Chittagong early yesterday.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit at a semi-pucca house owned by Abdul Karim around 3:00am and soon spread to the adjacent houses, said Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of Agrabad Fire Control and Civil Defence Station.
Two units from Kalurghat Fire Station doused the fire after an hour long effort, he added.
Fire service officials estimated the damages caused by the fire worth Tk 2 lakh.
