Bakery, houses gutted in Ctg
A fire gutted a bakery, a grocer's warehouse, a coaching centre and three tin-shed houses adjacent to old Chandgaon Police Station in Chittagong city early yesterday.
The fire, originated from an oven of the bakery at around 2:45am, soon engulfed the adjacent houses and burnt those to the ground, fire service sources said.
Two fire fighting units from Chandanpura and Kalurghat Fire Service and Civil Defence Stations rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze at around 5:30am.
