Road crashes kill four in three districts

Four people were killed in separate road accidents in Jhenidah, Chapainawabganj and Bhola on Friday and yesterday. Our Jhenidah correspondent reports, a man died as a human hauler hit a tree beside Jessore-Khulna road at Amtala bus stand in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenidah yesterday. The deceased was Ashim Shah, 38, a betel leaf trader, and son of Gopal Shah of Belat-Daulatpur village in the upazila. Police said Ashim was going to Shingi Bazar with betel leaves on the human hauler that hit the roadside tree after its driver lost his control over the steering at the bus stand around 2:00pm. Ashim succumbed to his injuries at Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, a motorcyclist died as the motorbike hit a human hauler at Kalupur of Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj on Friday night. The victim was Mohammad Nayan, 12, son of Alam Hossain of Karipatti Maholla of Shibganj municipal area. He died at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital around 12:00am. BSS from Bhola reports, two motorbike riders died as the vehicle hit a tree beside Char Madras road in Charfashion upazila on Friday. The victims were Shamsuddin, 32, son of Ratan Tofader, and Nasir Maji, 55, son of Khorshed Maji.
