PM to provide Tk 2 lakh to each family
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will provide Tk 2 lakh to the family of each victim killed in a garment factory fire in Ashulia and a flyover collapse in Chittagong on November 24.
The families of the deceased identified after the fire are entitled to the amount. Each of the wounded will receive Tk 50,000.
The premier would distribute the allocation, from her relief and welfare fund, at the Prime Minister's Office today at 11:30am, said Prime Minister's Special Assistant (Media) Mahbubul Hoque Shakil.
At least 111 people were killed and 100 injured in the fire at Tazreen Fashions Ltd in Ashulia's Nishchintapur while 13 people were killed and 15 injured when three concrete girders of the under-construction flyover at Bahaddarhat collapsed on a market.
