Two killed in train accidents
Two people were killed yesterday in two train accidents.
Amal Chowdhury, in Chittagong, was trying to get on a train heading for Chittagong but he slipped and fell on the platform with his two legs under the wheels. The train at Gomdandi Railway Station ran over his legs, leaving him seriously injured, said police.
Amal, 45, of Boalkhali upazila died in Chittagong Medical College Hospital around 10:30am.
Meanwhile, in Chapainawabganj, a boy was killed at Bidirpur rail crossing around 12:05pm when a train heading for Chapainawabganj hit him while he was crossing the rail lines.
Mohammad Roni, 14, son of Tazemul Islam of Chapainawabganj municipal area, died on the spot. Police sent the body to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
