5 killed, 5 injured in road accidents

Five people were killed and five others injured in road accidents in Natore, Chittagong, Gaibandha and Narail yesterday. Our Natore correspondent reports, two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident on Bonpara-Lalpur road in Raroa Kalibari area under Baraigram upazila yesterday. Police said the accident took place as a truck and a human-huller collided head-on killing Bulbuli Begum, 52, and Firoza Begum, 48, on the spot. Our Chittagong correspondent reports, a member of Bangladesh Ansar was killed as a truck hit him at the Gate Number 13 of Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) Fertiliser Factory in Patenga of Chittagong city yesterday. The victim was Delwar Hossain, 45. He died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Our Gaibandha correspondent reports, rickshaw puller Raja Mia, 45, was killed and two passenger of the rickshaw were injured as tractor hit the rickshaw on Rangpur-Bogra near Palashbari Rabbi Hotel in Gaibandha. Our Narail correspondent reports, Munnaf Sikder, 40, a driver of a locally made improvised three wheeler, was killed as a bus hit his vehicle on Lohagara-Narail road at Arenda Bazar in Lohagara upazila around 1:00pm.
