CU student drowns
A student of Chittagong University (CU) drowned in a water-body of a fountain on the campus yesterday.
The deceased was Salman Jahan, 20, a new student at CU Fine Arts Institute.
CU Assistant Proctor Anwar Hossain Chowdhury said Salman drowned when he and his friends were taking bath in the water-body around 12:15pm.
Earlier, they went to visit the fountain area, he said adding that divers of fire service recovered the body around 1:30pm.
The body was handed over to family members of the victim, he said.
