Gono Forum leader Zahirul joins AL
Gono Forum presidium member advocate Zahirul Islam has joined the ruling Awami League (AL).
Prime Minister and AL President Sheikh Hasina yesterday gave her consent for Zahirul's rejoining, said an AL press release signed by Deputy Officer Secretary of the ruling party, Mrinal Kanti Das.
On January 29, Zahirul met the premier after resigning from Gono Forum and told her that he had joined Gono Forum in 1993 as he was misled. “Realising my mistakes, I am willingly applying to join Awami League,†he added.
