Hearing of ACC cases not held
Hearing of the charge sheet in the case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran and his wife could not be held yesterday due to a stay order from the High Court.
As Asma Kamran yesterday submitted a lawyer's certificate stating that a High Court bench on 13 August had stayed the proceedings of the case for three months, acting District and Sessions Judge Ferdous Ahmed stayed the proceedings, Public Prosecutor EU Shahidul Islam said yesterday afternoon.
On February 6 this year, ACC filed the case against Kamran and his wife for amassing illegal wealth with Sylhet Kotwali Police Station.
