Language hero Ehia's death anniversary observed

The second death anniversary of Language Movement hero in Magura AKM Hamiduzzaman Ehia was observed here yesterday. To mark the day, Ehia Smriti Sangsad held various programmes including discussion meeting, destitute feeding and Milad Mahfil at his Nakol village home in Sreepur upazila in the district. Then a student leader at Raicharan High School, AKM Hamiduzzaman Ehia with cooperation of the then headmaster of Sreepur High School Abdur Rahim Joarder organised students of different institutions in the area that strengthen the Language Movement in Magura. Ehia played the key role to motivate students in favour of Language Movement, according to local language veteran Khan Ziaul Huq. Ehia was picked up by Pakistani forces for his role. Hamiduzzaman Ehia was born in 1938 at Nakol village in Sreepur upazila and died on August 19, 2006.
