'Your decision is enough to remain corruption-free'
ACC chief joins oath-taking by Beanibazar students, teachers
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Lt. Gen. (rtd) Hasan Moshhud Chowdhury) yesterday said corruption can be rooted out from any area or any institution if the people there decide.
Adherence to religious and moral values can be helpful in this regard, he said while addressing a gathering of local officials and the elite at Beanibazar upazila headquarters. It was organised by the upazila unit of Durnity Protirodh Committee (committee against corruption). Its president Principal Sultan Kabir was in the chair.help add .
If the people of a certain area want, it can be made corruption free, the ACC chief said.
“But we will have to be sincere to achieve the goal, which will save the nation as well as the country”, Chowdhury asserted.
Corruption is no longer a problem for any particular department or any section of people or of any area. It is a national problem.
He called upon all government officials, professional, students, teachers and businessmen to wake up and to join the campaign against corruption to save the nation.
Making people conscious against corruption is the best way to combat the vice he said and called upon all concerned to launch a massive campaign at all levels.
The ACC chief also attended a progranme at Khalil Chowdhury Adarsha Bidya Niketan where students and teachers took oath to stand against corruption.
He also addressed another meeting at Golapganj upazila headquarters.
