11 BNP men get life for murder
Bogra District Special Judge Court, in a verdict pronounced here yesterday, sentenced 11 BNP leaders and activists to life term rigorous imprisonment (RI) for killing a Krishok League leader of Sherpur upazila in 2002.
The convicts are Potka Alam, Masud Rana, Zahurul Islam, Zia Uddin Bhutto, Wadud, Amzad Hossain, Kamrul Islam, Masud, Abdul Khaleque, Tonic and Sohag, court sources said. Of them, Potka Alam and Masud are absconding.
Sherpur Upazila Krishok League joint secretary ASM Azam was hacked to death by the convicts inside a madrassa at Seemabari on July 20, 2002.
