9 held while stealing fuel from national grid
Villagers yesterday handed over nine members of a gang of thieves to police for stealing uncondensed oil from the national grid line at Kalishima village of Chandura union in Sadar upazila, police and villagers said.
On information, a police team from Islampur police outpost rushed to the spot and arrested them.
The arrestees are Delwar Hossain, 42, of Narayanganj district; Khairul Islam, 42, Jasim, 21, Lahab Uddin, 20, of Kishoreganj; Jamshed Mia, 25, Ershad Mia, 26, Mizan Mia, of Comilla district, Babul Mia, 42, of Chandpur district and Kawsar Mia of Ghatura village in Brahmanbaria Sadar upazila
