1 more Allaher Dal militant arrested in Gaibandha
Police arrested an activist of Islamist militant outfit Allaher Dal from New Bridge area in Gaibandha town on Thursday.
Arrestee Sultan Mahmud, 28, son of Enayet Ali of Pepuljor village under Palashbari upazila was arrested while moving suspiciously near the house of Allaher Dal chief Matin Mehdi in the area. Matin Mehdi was arrested in Kurigram few years back.
Police said that during interrogation Sultan Mahmud confessed that he was earlier arrested in 2006 for involvement with Islamist militant activities and released on bail.
Last week, Rapid Action battalion (Rab) arrested three Allaher Dal militants from Sunderganj Upazila.
