Ex-MP Syeda Sakina Islam laid to rest
Former lawmaker Syeda Sakina Islam was laid to rest at Barisal Muslim Graveyard yesterday after her namaj-e- janaja held on the premises of Aswani Kumar Hall.
She died of old age ailments at her residence in Lalmatia in the capiotal on Thursday. She was 75. The body was brought to Barisal yesterday morning.
She was widow of Fakrul Islam Khan, former editor of regional weekly Khadem and mother of Aminul Islam Bulbul, cultural personality.
Qul Khwani of Syeda Sakina Islam will be held at her Sadar Road residence in Barisal city on Saturday next.
