No confidence against Faridpur poura mayor
Faridpur Pourasabha mayor Md Abul Hossain has been facing no confidence from the commissioners of the municipality.
The commissioners announced no confidence on their mayor at a press conference held at Pabna Press Club auditorium yesterday.
They brought various allegations of corruption, misuse of power, tender scam and misappropriation of money against Abul Hossain, also president of Faridpur upazila unit of BNP
They said to have filed a general diary (GD) with Faridpur Police Station after getting threats from the mayor recently.
Seven out of 12 commissioners including two women commissioners were present at the conference. They are Alhaj Md Asaduzzaman, Dr Md Sahadat Hossain, Krishna Chandra Das, Abdul Khaleque Pramanik, Samsuddin Pramanik, Varoti Rani and Aleya Begum.
When contacted, mayor Abul Hossain refuted the allegations saying the aforesaid commissioners created pressure on him to spend Tk 6 lakh ADP money in name of development projects without calling tenders. 'I fell in their wrath as I disagreed with them,' he said.
