10 hurt in BCL-Chhatra Dal clash in Jhenidah KC College

A clash between Chhatra League and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) left 10 people injured yesterday noon. Five of the injured -- Shimul, Khairul, Shipon, Salim and Hashem -- have been admitted to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital. They are all Chhatra League activists, said Chhatra League leaders. Following altercation over playing carrom board at Government KC College auditorium on Monday noon, activists of the two student organisations started chasing and counter chasing and threw stones, Officer-in-Charge Kazi Wazed Ali of Jhenidah Police Station said. Later two bombs exploded, leaving several Chhatra League activists injured. Two Chhatra Dal activists also got minor injuries during the incident. Chhatra League and Chhatra Dal leaders blamed each other for the incident. Police have been deployed on the college campus to stave off any unwanted situation.
