Tk 19 lakh snatched in Sylhet
Snatchers took away Tk 19 lakh from a person in Golapganj upazila yesterday afternoon.
As Saifuddin of Charkhai in Beanibazar upazila on his way to Sylhet city on a microbus reached Dhakadakshin bypass in Golapganj, a gang of criminals on motorcycles stood on his way and snatched away the money at gunpoint.
Before people rushed in hearing cry of Saifuddin, the criminals fled away.
The victim immediately informed police of the incident, and a haunt is on, police said.
