Jamuna fertiliser workers stage sit-in
Workers of Jamuna Fertiliser Factory (JFF) at Tarakandi of Sarishabari upazila in Jamalpur district staged a sit-in demonstration yesterday demanding implementation of wage commission award.
Without hampering production in the factory, workers staged the sit-in demonstration on the administrative building premises under banner of Shramik Karmochari Union from 9:00am to 11:00am, JFF sources said.
Later, they submitted a memorandum to the managing director of the factory, Mir Mozaffar Ali, containing their demands.
Union leaders like Belal Hossain, Mohammad Solaiman, Abul Bashar and Jenarat Hossain addressed during the sit-in programme.
The factory resumed production on Friday after five days' suspension.
