New election rules
The EC will frame new election conduct rules after discussions with political parties. Some parties have already given their opinions and demands to the EC from their own points of ideologies which we have seen in the print media. Most of their demands look good.
I have a point to mention here which, I believe, no party will place in their demand list. The point is "refrain from speaking big lies'.
In the past we have heard thousands of times the same lies which became familiar and believable to the ordinary citizens like us.
I put few examples here; “shadhinata nashat er cheshta cholchey, if you vote for a bishesh dal, the country will become part of India, Bangla Bhai is the creation of the media, people are being washed away by tidal bore of development, no corruption exists in the country, my sons cannot do corruption because they are sons of a great man.” There are many more.
This is simple exploitation of ordinary voters like us, who tend to believe these sorts of Big Lies. I request the Election Commission to kindly take note of this point and include it in the new set of election conduct rules to stop the politicians from speaking big lies to the public in their election campaigns.
