5 rebels in BNP, one in AL

Six rebel candidates of BNP and Awami League have submitted their nomination papers in three out of five constituencies in Chandpur. Of them five are BNP rebels and one from Awami League. BNP leaders who have submitted nomination papers as independent candidates are Dr Jalal Uddin in Chandpur-2 constituency (Matlab Uttar and Matlab Dakkhin except Narayanpur union); Former MP Md Nurul Huda got BNP nomination in the seat. In Chandpur 3 (Sadar-Haimchar) seat industrialist Sheikh Farid Ahmed Manik and Chadnpur town BNP leader Mahbubur Rahman Shahin has submitted papers as independent. IN this seat BNP has nominated former MP GM Fazlul Haque. In Chandpur-4 constituency (Faridganj) BNP leaders chairman of NCC Group industrialists Harunur Rashid and Motahar Hossain Patwari are contesting as independent candidates. New face MA Hannan got BNP ticket for the seat. Chandpur district Awami League president Dr Md Shamsul Haq Bhuiyan is the AL rebel candidate who has submitted papers as an independent candidate for Chandpur-4 seat. Awami League has nominated journalist Shafiqur Rahman for the seat. However, none of the rebel candidates came to the Election Commission office personally. Their representatives submitted their nomination papers to the district election officer.
