Currency notes
It is learnt that Bangladesh Bank is soon going to issue one thousand taka currency note for the first time in our country.
Let us remind Bangladesh Bank once again that millions of people in our country use two taka and one taka notes, but there is an acute shortage of these currency notes for a long time in our cities and towns, and the sufferings of people know no bounds. Further, the notes which are in circulation are all torn-out, dirty, filthy and unhygienic.
As a result, most of the time there are disputes, quarrels and even fighting among our people, especially rickshaw-pullers, bus conductors, passengers, students, shopkeepers and customers over these obsolete notes, their utility, legitimacy and acceptability .
We wonder how many persons are going to have the golden touch and use of the one thousand taka currency note?
We must always take into consideration and work for the welfare, benefit and convenience of the majority, and then think about the problems of the few privileged people.
