Over two hundreds of students of Patuakhali Polytechnic Institute yesterday staged a sit-in in front of the deputy commissioner's (DC) office and submitted a memorandum to the DC demanding publication of the result of their examination of 2007-2008 session. The students stayed in front of the DC office for an hour from 11:00am and submitted a memorandum to the DC urging to take necessary steps to publish their results. Bangladesh Technical Education Board recently published the examination results of the session but results of 25 students of Patuakhali Polytechnic are yet to published, said the memo. If the authorities fail to publish results of the 25 students soon, their taking part in the next semester examination, which will be held in February, will become uncertain, it added. During the protest programme, the students strongly crticised corruption and irregularities by a section of offcials and staff of Bnagladesh Technical Education Board. When contacted, Nurul Islam, principal of the institution, said he sent a teacher to the Board office to find a way to solve the problem.
