Bid to abduct female teacher: 4 held

Villagers rescued a female schoolteacher and caught red-handed four kidnappers while they were abducting her from the school premises on Thursday. The kidnappers are Sohag Gazi, 25, Sabu, 26, Khokon, 23, and Prince, 24, all of Chalitabunia village under Galachipa upazila. Laizu Akhter Doel, 20, was taking class at a school run by Dhaka Ahsania Mission, an NGO. All on a sudden, a gang of six kidnappers led by Sohag Gazi appeared there and tried to kidnap her, police and witnesses said. Hearing a hue and cry of students, locals rushed to the school and caught four kidnappers after a good chase. Later, they handed them over to Galachipa police.
