25 more sued in four districts
Twenty-five alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces have been sued for war crimes, including killing, looting and arson, in Satkhira, Kishoreganj, Magura and Khagrachhari in 1971.
Our Satkhira correspondent reported that Chandana Rani Mondal, wife of late Brojendra Nath Mondal of Badhghata village in Shyamnagar upazila, filed a case with Judicial Magistrate's Court here yesterday, accusing 12 alleged collaborators for killing her father Surendra Nath Mondal during Liberation War in 1971.
The accused are Mahsin-Ul-Mulk, Monsur Ali Sardar, Abu Bakkar Sardar, Abdul Hamid Sardar, Fajar Ali Gazi, Korban Ali Gazi, Yusuf Ali Gazi and Nawab Aziz of Munshiganj village, Israfil Mollah and Quddus Mollah of Iswaripur village, Abdul Jalil Gazi of Sreefalkati village, and Abul Hossain Gazi of Abadchandipur village under Shyamnagar upazila.
In the case statement, the complainant said the accused killed her father Surendra Nath Mondal in Kadamtala sluice gate area in Shyamnagar upazila.
on October 4, 1971.
She further alleged that the accused set her father's house afire the same day and took away Tk 4,40,000 and gold ornaments.
Judge Humayun Kabir accepted the case and asked the officer-in-charge (OC) of Shyamnagar Police Station to record the case after proper investigation.
In Kishoreganj, A case was filed with Judicial Magistrate' Court, yesterday against 10 alleged rajakars for setting eight houses afire at Sachail village in Tarail upazila on September 17, 1971, according to a correspondent.
Nuru Mia of Harua area of Kishoreganj town filed the case. Karam Ali, 60, of the area and nine other unidentified collaborators have been sued in the case.
Judge Abu Sayed accepted the case and asked the officer-in-charge (OC) of Tarail Police Station to take legal steps after investigation.
Our Magura correspondent adds: Md Nizamuddin of Kumrul village under Mohammadpur upazila yesterday filed a petition case with Judicial Magistrate's Court, Magura, against two alleged rajakars for killing his brother during Liberation War in 1971.
The accused are Abdur Razzak, 65, of Awnara village, and Dabir Molla, 64, of Ghullia village in Mohammadpur upazila.
The plaintiff alleged that his brother Tayebur Rahman was shot dead by the accused while taking bath at a canal adjacent to Ghullia Bazar on September 11, 1971.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Manjurul Imam asked the officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station to accept the petition case and submit a report after investigation.
In Khagrachhari, a freedom fighter filed a case against an alleged war criminal with Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court here yesterday, reports our correspondent
The accused is Abdur Rahim, 65, son of Late Osman Gani of Panchhari Bazar.
The complainant, Ali Ahammed, alleged that 'rajakar' Abdur Rahim in collaboration with Pakistani occupation army was involved in war crimes, including killing, looting and arson in Panchhari area during Liberation War in 1971.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Abul Bashar Munshi asked the officer-in-charge of Panchhari Police Satiation to submit a report before the court after proper investigation into the case.
