Rivals kill outlaws in Pabna, Kushtia

Two underground operatives were killed by their rivals in Pabna and Kushtia districts early yesterday and on Saturday night. In Pabna, Janajuddha cadre Altaf Hossain Fakir, 32, was killed by his rivals in Faridpur upazila of the district, according to our correspondent. Police quoted family members as saying that an armed gang stormed into the house of Altaf at around 3:00am and shot him. He died instantly. Golam Faruk, officer-in-charge (OC) of Faridpur Police Station said the murder might be a sequel to intra-party feud. Police sent the body to Pabna General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Our correspondent from Kushtia reported that a cadre of outlawed Gono Mukti Fouz (GMF) was killed by outlawed Gono Bahini men at Balarampur village under Sadar upazila on Saturday night. Police and locals said a gang of armed Gono Bahini cadres went to the house of Rafir Uddin at about 9:30pm and picked him up at gunpoint. They then took him to a nearby field and shot him dead. The criminals in a chit left on the body claimed that that they killed Rafir as he was involved in the murder of Swadheen Hossain, a cadre of Gono Bahini in Alamdanga months ago.
