2 Bangladeshis beaten to death by BSF

Two Bangladeshi cattle traders were beaten to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along Benapole and Satkhira borders on Monday night. Of them, one was identified as Madhu of Putkhali village under Benapole Police Station while identity of the other could not be known as of 8:00pm yesterday, reports UNB. BDR sources said BSF troops of Angrail camp caught Madhu while he was returning home from India. The Indian border guards beat him to death and threw the body into the Ichhamati River. Locals found the body floating on the river yesterday morning and informed the police. Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy. Our Satkhira correspondent reported that an unidentified Bangladeshi cattle trader was beaten to death by the BSF personnel near Tarali border under Swarupnagar Police Station of West Bengal on Monday night. The Indian border guards arrested the cattle trader when he reached at Tarali village. They beat him up, resulting in his death on the spot, according to report received in Satkhira from across the border. When contacted, Lt Col Iqbal Azim of 41 Rifles Battalion, confirmed the incident, saying that BDR is trying to know the identity of the victim.
