Carpenter murdered

Unidentified criminals killed a carpenter at Char Singherkathi under Chandramohan union of Barisal Sadar upazila on Thursday night. The victim was identified as Siraj Howladar, 40, son of Mustafa Howladar of Char Singherkathi. Police said Siraj came under attack when he was returning home from his work place at around 8:00pm. The beat him up, hit on the head with iron rod and left the scene. Siraj succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital. The law enforcers arrested a man named Jasimuddin, 35, at Char Singherkathi yesterday in connection with the murder.
