Bodies of two abducted Rangamati labourers recovered from forest
Bodies of two labourers, abducted by a gang of criminals from Gangaram Mukh area under Bagaichhari upazila of Rangamati district on May 6, were recovered yesterday.
The victims were identified as Mohammad Mujibur Rahman, 38, son of Mohammad Ali of Boalkhali under Dighinala upazila of Khagrachhari district, and Mohammad Alkash Ahmed, 42, son of Mohammad Motaleb Hossain of Karallachhari under Logung upazila of Rangamati district.
Bagaichhari police sources said the joint force recovered the bodies from Hatimara forest and sent them to Khagrachhari Adhunik Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
They also arrested two people--Dipan Chakma and Sumon Chakma--for their alleged involvement in abduction and killing of the two.
Police quoted family sources as saying that a gang of local criminals, led by Priyatosh Chakma and Shanti Priya Chakma, abducted the two as the contractor who engaged them in a road carpeting work, refused to give the gang illegal toll.
