18 more sued in four districts for war crimes

Eighteen more people have been sued for their alleged involvement in war crimes in Magura, Meherpur, Dinajpur and Mymensingh districts in 1971. In Magura, a petition case was filed with Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court here yesterday against eight alleged collaborators of Pakistani occupation forces for killing several freedom fighters in Sadar upazila in 1971, according to our correspondent. Khan Ali Reza, former commander of Muktijoddha Sangsad Magura unit, filed the case. In the case statement, the plaintiff said the accused killed several freedom fighters, including Lutfur Rahman Lutu of Parnanduali and Meer Hadek Ali of Meerpara in Magura town, during Liberation War in 1971. Six alleged rajakar were sued in Meherpur yesterday for killing a freedom in Sadar upazila in 1971. Bulu Mondol of villege Chougasa under Gangni upazila filed the case with Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court, Meherpur, against the six for killing freedom fighter Haresuddin Mondol on Aughst 23, 1971, reports a correspondent. Our Dinajpur correspondent reported that two alleged collaborators were yesterday sued for killing two people in Parbatipur upazila of the district in 1971. The complainant said the accused killed his father Rahim Uddin and freedom fighter Anwarul Islam at the village in 1971. Our Mymensingh correspondent adds: A case was filed with a Mymensingh Court yesterday against two people for their alleged involvement in war crimes in 1971. Zulekha Khatun, daughter of late Akuluddin Bepari of village Uttar Dapunia in Sadar upazila, filed the case with Judicial Magistrate's Court, Mymensingh. Judicial Magistrate Ferdous Wahid accepted the case and asked the local police to take necessary steps after proper investigation.
