Students block road in Rajshahi

General students of the Engineering and Survey Institute of Rajshahi yesterday barricaded busy Shaheb Bazar Road at Shaheb Bazar to press their three-point demand. The demands include recognition of the institute's students as diploma holder in job sector, their recruitment as survey diploma holder, sub-assistant settlement officer, deputy assistant land surveyor, building inspector, sub-assistant engineer (survey) and taxation officer and inclusion of modern technologies in their survey education. Earlier, around 200 male and female students of the institute brought out a procession and paraded different streets of the city. They then held a protest rally blocking Shaheb Bazar-Sonadighi Road creating a huge traffic jam for over an hour.
