2 Hizb-ut Towhid militants held

Police arrested two activists of outlawed Hizb-ut Towhid at Gayabari village under Dimla upazila and recovered some documents from their possession early yesterday. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of Tamsher Ali at the village at around 2:30am and arrested Asma Akhter Runa, 26, of Gournadi upazila of Barisal district, and Ariful Islam, 34, of Sharsha upazila of Jessore district. Police recovered Jihadi books, leaflets and membership forms from their possession. When contacted, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Dimla Police Station said the law enforcers arrested the two while they were holding a secret meeting with some new recruits. The arrestees told police that they came to the area for organisational work.
