Syeda Rizwana Hassan
Syeda Rizwana Hassan has quite a few identities attached to her name. She is the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Environmental Lawyer Association (BELA), an Advocate (Attorney) in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh and also a devoted environment activist who tirelessly works to protect the environment from every form of injustice. In 2012, she has won the Ramon Magsaysay Award 2012 for her campaign for social and ecological justice. This week expresses her love for our environment with The Star.
When you first knew that you will be an environment activist

Back in 2012 August, when we won the Modhumoti Model town case where it was declared illegal as it was developed filling up a 550 acre wetland which was identified as a flood flow zone in Dhaka
