2 killed in microbus-three wheeler collision in Sreemangal
Two people were killed after a microbus collided head‑on with a CNG‑run auto-rickshaw in Sreemangal upazila of Moulvibazar this evening.
One of the deceased was identified as Hannan Mia, 35, a driver from Uttar Baraura village. The identity of the other victim could not be confirmed, said police.
According to police and locals, the incident happened in Sirajnagar on the Dhaka-Sylhet regional highway. The auto-rickshaw overturned upon impact and locals nearby rescued four passengers and rushed them to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital.
Doctors declared two of them dead, while another critically injured passenger was referred to Sylhet for advanced treatment.
Zahirul Islam Munna, officer‑in‑charge of Srimangal Police Station, confirmed the incident and said the bodies were sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
