Woman found dead

Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman in a paddy field at Bhakargaon village in Thakurgaon's Ranishankoil upazila yesterday afternoon.

Local farmers found the body while harvesting on the field yesterday morning. On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Thakurgaon Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy, said Gulfamul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ranishankoil Police Station.

The woman might have been killed around 20 to 25 days ago, he said.

A case was filed with the police station in this connection. Police are trying to identify the victim, he further said.
