Man sued over rape

A man was sued yesterday over the rape of a minor girl in Jhalakathi's Rajapur on Friday.

The victim's father filed a case against Sakib, 22, with Rajapur Police Station, said Sanjeeb Kumar Pahlan, sub-inspector of the police station.

According to the case statement, the accused forcibly took the girl to a bush and raped her around 7:00pm on Friday.

A court recorded the victim's statement yesterday and medical tests were conducted on her, the SI said.

The accused went into hiding. Police were trying to arrest him within the shortest possible time, he further said.
