Pledging to build a land of justice, a new political party -- “Janata Party Bangladesh” (People’s Party Bangladesh) -- was launched yesterday under the leadership of noted actor and road safety activist Ilias Kanchan.

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman has urged party leaders and activists to restore people’s voting rights at any cost, saying that the sacrifices made over the past 15 years must not be allowed to go in vain.
